This blog was borne out of a need that I felt like wasn’t being met: a place where clothing resellers could come and learn about brand labels. Brands are at the heart of what we do: good brands help us make sales, but it’s more than just about knowing brand names. Being able to understand a brand’s various labels and subsidiaries is also important to our businesses. We need to know what an older label vs. a newer label looks like, so that (hopefully) we are picking up the latest version of that brand. It also helps to know when a designer has several different brand levels.
Many of us know the difference between ready-to-wear and haute couture, but there is also labels that signify what price point that item may have sold at. It’s a difference between finding an item that originally sold for $100 or $1,000.
I hope that by following this site – and submitting your own knowledge, we can help each other become better at what we love to do! I can’t wait to see what we can learn together!
